Founded by bassist Glen ‘Lucy’ Luck in the early ‘80s (!!), Armoured Angel’s first steps in the underground were a long way from the monstrous death metal sound they were later known for and what made them this hidden treasure from the Aussie extreme metal scene.

It was with the addition of the Green brothers when things really took shape and a number of demos and EP’s were recorded between 1989 and 1994 showing the band evolving from powerful thrash to their trademark melodic, grooving death metal.

It took the band until 1999 to release the debut album Angel Of the Sixth Order, originally out on Warhead Records. The Green brothers had left the band in the meantime but with new members Yuri Ward and Steve Luff the band recorded 9 blistering tracks. Old school, downtuned death metal with a thrashy approach is what you get here. If you like death metal with memorable riffs bands such as Bolt Thrower and Gorefest (False era) are known for you will absolutely love this album.
